SZA BREAKS SILENCE ON NICKI MINAJ FEUD

SZA has finally spoken out about her unexpected social media feud with Nicki Minaj, describing the situation as confusing and unwarranted. In an interview published by GQ on November 6, the Grammy-winning singer explained that she had "no idea" what sparked the animosity.

"I don't know her," SZA said of Minaj. "We have no connection to each other. There's no backstory. Like, there was no through line narrative. It was just like, 'Roc Nation'.... I don't know where it came from. That's not even my place to correct a narrative that I don't got s--t to do with." She added that the entire situation was "a little strange," but ultimately shrugged it off, saying, "It was very like, 'Why?' But also, you know, 'I guess.'"

The feud began in July when Minaj took aim at SZA on social media, accusing her of being disingenuous and taking subtle shots online. Without naming her directly, Minaj wrote on X, "Go draw your freckles back on bookie," and later questioned the legitimacy of SZA's career milestones. "B---h put out a whole new album as a deluxe to an already existing album that was out for like a year or 2 so the original album could break records," she wrote.

The exchange also caught the attention of Cardi B, who defended SZA, writing, "Who tf beef with SZA???" and calling out Minaj for feuding with multiple women in the industry.

Despite the heated exchanges, SZA emphasized that she had no intention of escalating things. She told GQ that she preferred to stay out of unnecessary drama and focus on her music.

However, the tension with Minaj wasn't the only public dispute linked to SZA in recent months. The "Kill Bill" hitmaker was also drawn into the spotlight amid the highly publicized feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Having worked with both musicians, she made it clear that she was not involved in their conflict and preferred to stay out of the situation.

SZA explained that the dispute between Kendrick Lamar and Drake was a personal matter between the two rappers and not something she intended to involve herself in. She noted that while she has a close relationship with Kendrick through their shared label, Top Dawg Entertainment, and has also maintained a long-standing and positive connection with Drake, she saw no reason to take sides. The singer described the situation as unfortunate but emphasized her desire to remain neutral and focus on her own work.
