New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson gave Harry Styles an unforgettable Halloween surprise when he appeared on stage dressed like the pop superstar to present him with a commemorative banner celebrating his record-breaking Madison Square Garden residency.
The surprise took place on Saturday, October 31, during the second night of Styles' Harryween celebrations. The singer, 32, had just completed his 30-show Together, Together residency at the iconic New York venue.
Brunson, 30, recreated one of Styles' familiar New York streetwear looks, wearing a black jacket with the hood pulled over his head, matching trousers, black sneakers, white socks and dark sunglasses. He completed the outfit with a gray baseball cap bearing the words "TECHNO IS MY BOYFRIEND," similar to one Styles had previously worn.
The NBA champion also had a headphone cord sticking out of his pocket, adding another detail to the costume. Before handing over the cap, Brunson joked that he would return it to the singer after the performance.
When the two met on stage, Styles playfully observed that they were almost the same height, prompting laughter from the audience.
Brunson's wife, Ali, shared photographs and videos from the evening on Instagram Stories, including comparisons showing how closely her husband's outfit resembled Styles' signature look.
The basketball star was welcomed onto the stage by enthusiastic fans chanting "MVP" before presenting the singer with a special banner commemorating his achievement of performing 30 consecutive shows at Madison Square Garden.
The recognition came after Styles previously received a similar tribute following his 15-night residency at the venue in 2022.
The moment also reflected the growing friendship between the two stars. Just a week earlier, Styles attended Brunson's own banner-raising celebration and championship ring ceremony ahead of the Knicks' season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 20.
The singer was spotted on the arena's giant screen, smiling and waving as fans cheered during the game, which the Knicks lost 106-100.
Meanwhile, Styles embraced Halloween with an unusual costume inspired by New York City's famous Pizza Rat. He initially appeared in a full-body furry brown outfit complete with pink feet, a long tail and a large foam pizza slice. He later changed into a simpler look featuring a white T-shirt reading "I am a rat," gray shorts and a fuzzy rat-ear headband.
His bandmates also joined the Halloween celebrations, dressing as recognizable New York City staples, including a hot dog and a taxi driver.
Styles' Harryween performances also featured an Elvis Presley-inspired outfit during the first night, adding another memorable costume moment to the celebrations.
