Lizzo’s big grrrl and big boiii dancers express their support and praise her despite her being accused of misconduct by former dancers. The lawsuit was initiated by Asha Daniels, a former employee on Lizzo’s European tour in 2023. U.S. In her 50-page complaint, Daniels stated she first worked with Lizzo’s team in September 2022, designing costumes for dancers. By February 2024, she was hired to manage and maintain dancers’ outfits during the tour.

Lizzo was previously sued by former wardrobe assistant, Asha Daniels, however, the case has now been dropped. The stylist claims she was subjected to racial and sexual harassment and a hostile work environment by members of the singer’s management team while on tour in 2023, as well as unpaid over time. Daniels also accused the dancer of being fatphobic towards her. Lizzo, known for tracks like Truth Hurts and Juice, built her reputation on body positivity, but last year found herself the subject of several similar accusations.
In a statement, Lizzo denied the rumors, calling them “absurd publicity stunt.” “These sensationalised stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behaviour on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.” Daniels’ claims came after a lawsuit by Lizzo’s three former employees, alleging that they were subjected to an unsafe working environment, fat shamed and sexual misconduct. Her lawyers, however, remained firm and described Daniels as a “disgruntled” former employee with “meritless and salacious” claims.
A Los Angeles federal judge ruled on Monday that wardrobe assistant Asha Daniels could not sue the Grammy winner as an individual, after identifying the singer’s touring and payroll companies as her employers, however, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc remains a defendant in the ongoing case. US district judge Fernando L Aenlle-Rocha dismissed all seven causes of action against Lizzo, and those regarding her tour manager Carlina Gugliotta.
The judge also granted a partial motion to dismiss several of the claims due to the fact that Daniels worked for the company while on tour in Europe, where American employment laws do not apply.
Ron Zambrano, of the West Coast employment lawyers – Daniels’s attorney released a statement regarding the judge’s ruling. “The lawsuit is still very active and has not been dismissed. The ruling was not for lack of evidence, but rather on procedural jurisdictional grounds,” he said. “It by no means absolves Lizzo of the egregious claims that occurred on her watch. All individually named defendants were dismissed because of the jurisdictional limits of Title VII and FLSA claims that no individual can be liable for those claims.
The ruling does not reflect ”the merits of the claims,” Zambrano said, adding, “The lawsuit still moves forward against Lizzo’s company, Big Grrl Touring, as to all claims except for the overtime allegation.” This claim “was also dismissed for jurisdictional, not evidentiary reasons, given claims for unpaid overtime only apply for work done within the United States.”

When Ariana Grande auditioned for the role of Glinda in the highly anticipated Wicked film adaptation, director Jon M. Chu made an unusual request: he asked her to return without any makeup. This decision has sparked mixed reactions from the public, but Chu, in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, explained the reasoning behind it.
Chu shared that Grande’s first audition didn’t fully convince him to cast her. “For Glinda, specifically, Ariana came in and, you know, she had maybe a higher bar than everyone else because she has such a public persona, and I really didn't want it to overshadow this role of Glinda,” Chu said. He wanted to make sure he was casting someone who could embody the character of Glinda, rather than simply bringing their public image to the screen. “I wanted to find Glinda,” he added.
Grande's initial audition, while impressive, still presented a challenge for Chu. He explained, “She came in, first time, and she looked like Ariana Grande,” referring to her iconic appearance. It was at this point that Chu made the request for her to return without makeup, hoping this would allow him to see her in a new light. “And we thought, 'Hey, what if you came back and just didn’t have any of your make-up?'”
Although Chu wasn’t sure how his request would be received, Grande agreed without hesitation. “She came in and did that, and I saw her in a totally new light that I’d never seen her in,” Chu remarked, expressing his satisfaction with how the audition turned out.
The decision, however, drew some criticism online. Some fans questioned the director’s request, with one user commenting, "You can’t imagine a woman without makeup? As a director?" Others defended Chu, explaining that his goal wasn’t to critique Grande’s makeup, but to ensure that Glinda’s role wasn’t overshadowed by Grande’s recognizable persona. “He didn’t want the Glinda to look like Ariana Grande, he wanted to see if Ariana could look like Glinda,” one fan pointed out.
Wicked is currently screening in selected cinemas, and fans are eager to see how Grande brings Glinda to life on the big screen.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 47, found himself at the center of a violent altercation in London's upscale Hatton Garden neighborhood. The incident, which unfolded on December 10, 2024, was sparked by Mayweather's unwavering support for Israel and the Jewish community.
While shopping in the area, Mayweather was confronted by a mob of approximately 30 individuals. Witnesses describe the scene as "very targeted," with the boxer being taunted with racial slurs. According to a source close to Mayweather, the situation escalated after he proudly declared his support for Israel, prompting one person to take a swing at him. Despite the chaos, Mayweather's security team successfully shielded him from physical harm.
Videos shared on social media platforms, including X, capture the intense moments leading up to Mayweather's swift exit. One eyewitness recounted, "Someone said Mayweather had been shopping when he was asked why he supported Israel. He doubled down and said he was proud to support the Jews." Another witness claimed, "Floyd took a few hits during it, but his security was trying to push people back.
Mayweather addressed the incident on Instagram, downplaying the severity of the situation: "What you're seeing is just my security doing their job to keep things under control... I'm perfectly fine, and there's nothing more to it." This encounter marks a disturbing trend of public figures facing backlash for their political stances. As reported by the UK's hate crime statistics, incidents fueled by prejudice have seen a concerning rise, with 76% of hate crimes in 2022 being motivated by racism (source: UK Home Office).
Mayweather's allegiance to Israel is not new. In March 2024, he visited the country to demonstrate his support amidst the ongoing conflict with Hamas. His social media pledge at the time read, "I stand with Israel against the Hamas terrorists... God Bless America. God Bless Israel. God Bless Human Kind!

Rapper Shawn Carter and Sean Diddy Combs are being accused of raping a 13 year old girl after the 2000 MTV video music awards. The lawsuit, which was originally filed in October and re-filed Sunday in New York to add Jay-Z to the list of defendants, alleges that the victim, identified only as a woman now living in Alabama, was raped by both men at a Video Music Awards after party.
The lawsuit alleges the girl went to the VMAs in New York City without a ticket hoping to get inside, but was instead invited to an after party by a limo driver who claimed to work for Combs. The limo driver allegedly drove her to the party, where she was told to sign something that she believes was a non-disclosure agreement, the lawsuit claims. She claims that after a few drinks, she started feeling “woozy and lightheaded.”
In a letter sent Monday to the judge overseeing the case, an attorney for Carter wrote, “For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Carter is entirely innocent. This is a shakedown. He is not mentioned, referenced, or implicated in any way in the criminal investigation of Mr. Combs. He is neither a target nor a person of interest in that investigation.”
Teny Geragos, an attorney representing Combs, said in a statement, urging the judge to speed up the process of the lawsuit against him, “This amended complaint and the recent extortion lawsuit against Mr. Buzbee exposes his barrage of lawsuits against Mr. Combs for what they are: shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread
about Mr. Combs. As his legal team has said before, Mr. Combs has full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”
Jay Z’s lawyer also went ahead to accused Tony Buzbee, the lawyer who helped filed the lawsuit, of amplifying unsubstantial allegations and harm Mr. Carter’s reputation. He continued, “Allowing plaintiff to proceed anonymously would deny Mr. Carter the fundamental right to confront his accuser, while simultaneously enabling plaintiff and her counsel to conduct a trial by media.”
