A California appellate court has denied rapper Tory Lanez’s bid to overturn his 2022 conviction and the subsequent 10-year prison sentence for the July 2020 shooting of fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion. The ruling leaves Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, with his felony convictions intact and his sentence in force unless further review is granted by a higher court.

Eddie Murphy has shown the world a rarely seen side of himself in his new Netflix documentary Being Eddie, where he pays tribute to his late brother, comedian Charlie Murphy. Charlie, who passed away in 2017 from leukemia at age 57, remains a constant presence in Eddie’s life and legacy. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Eddie said there was “never a decision that had to be made” about including Charlie in the film. “He’s a huge part of my life. You have your dad and your big brother—those are your protectors.”
