The first official teaser trailer, unveiled on Thursday, amassed an astounding 116.2 million global views within 24 hours, according to data from WaveMetrix. This remarkable feat makes it the most-watched music biopic trailer of all time, surpassing all previous records and marking the largest trailer debut in Lionsgate’s history.

In the latest controversy surrounding music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, his representatives have forcefully denied that he consumed homemade alcohol behind bars and insisted that he has not violated any prison rules. The statements come in response to recent reports claiming Diddy was caught drinking a fermented mixture at his federal facility.

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix (FCI Fort Dix) in New Jersey after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was transferred there after more than a year at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

The controversy began when tabloid-site outlets reported that Diddy had been discovered with a concoction made of soda, sugar and apples, a homemade brew sometimes nicknamed “pruno” in correctional settings. The claim included alleged internal discussions about relocating him to another unit as a consequence of the purported violation.

In response, Diddy’s spokesperson issued a statement calling the reports “false” and “reckless,” emphasising his commitment to sobriety, self-discipline and adherence to the rules of his facility. The official said the mogul was focusing on “becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”

According to the defence team’s statement, “There have been several false and reckless reports circulating about Mr. Combs. He has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he Is taking them seriously.” They further added that he is in his “first week” at Fort Dix and warned that “as with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumours and exaggerated stories throughout his time there.”

The allegations carry potentially serious implications. Under federal prison regulations, the introduction or manufacture of alcohol constitutes a “Greatest Severity Prohibited Act,” which can result in loss of good conduct time, disciplinary segregation and other sanctions. However, no official disciplinary action appears to have been publicly documented at this stage.

For now, Diddy remains at Fort Dix, adhering to the standard protocols of incarceration while his legal team and representatives continue to challenge the accuracy of the reports. As of now, there is no confirmation from prison officials that any rule violation has been logged or that he has faced any internal disciplinary proceedings.

Cynthia Erivo has officially stepped into the courtroom, trading her witch’s robes from Wicked for a barrister’s wig in the upcoming film adaptation of Prima Facie. The feature, based on Suzie Miller’s award-winning one-woman play, has wrapped principal photography in London under the direction of BAFTA-winning and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Susanna White (Andor, Woman Walks Ahead).

The legal drama follows Tessa Ensler, played by Erivo, a brilliant young U.K. defense attorney who has climbed from working-class roots to become a rising star of the London bar. Known for her fierce defense of men accused of sexual assault, Tessa soon finds herself facing a life-altering dilemma — one that forces her to question her faith in the very justice system she has sworn to uphold.

Filming took place at notable London landmarks, including The Old Bailey, Lincoln’s Inn, and The Story Works — the city’s newest studio complex. The movie is produced by Greer Simpkin and David Jowsey (Mystery Road), alongside Kevin Loader (The Death of Stalin), with executive producers including Erivo and Solome Williams through their banner Edith’s Daughter (Drift).

The supporting cast features a strong lineup: Daniel Ings (The Gentlemen), Elizabeth Dulau (Andor), Noma Dumezweni (The Undoing), Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso), Harry Treadaway (The Crown), Sarah Junillon (FBI: International), Elliot Levey (Giant), and Simon Russell Beale (House of the Dragon).

Written for the screen by Miller herself, Prima Facie expands upon the acclaimed stage production that starred Jodie Comer in both the West End and Broadway runs, earning Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Actress and Best Play. The film version builds on that success, evolving the one-woman format into a multi-dimensional cinematic experience.

“As an actor and executive producer, it means so much to be part of the team bringing Suzie Miller’s indelible Prima Facie from stage to screen,”said Erivo. “Tessa Ensler’s story is that of so many, and my hope is that it reaches the furthest corners and cultivates conversations that help us understand and empathize with one another in ways especially needed today.”

Miller echoed Erivo’s sentiment, noting that seeing her play expand into film “has blown my mind.” She praised Erivo’s performance, saying, “Cynthia has inhabited Tessa and made her completely her own. She is an actress at the pinnacle of her talent.”

Embankment Films, which launched international sales at Cannes, has significantly pre- sold Prima Facie across key territories and is handling worldwide sales and distribution alongside UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance.

Director Susanna White described adapting the monologue-based play into a full-length feature as both “challenging and inspiring.” She added, “I wanted this important story, which affects one in three women, to spark conversation and stay with audiences long after they leave the cinema.”

Shot during the cinematic beauty of autumn in London, Prima Facie is an Australia–U.K. co-production between Bunya Productions and Embankment Films, with major investment from Minderoo Pictures, Screen Australia, and Screen NSW. The producing team promises a visually rich and emotionally charged drama that delivers both powerful storytelling and cultural resonance.

With Erivo’s commanding performance and White’s deft direction, Prima Facie is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated courtroom dramas of the coming year — one that challenges perceptions of justice, power, and truth.

Rapper Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was arrested on November 7, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia, on charges including possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, a Schedule V controlled substance and reckless driving.

Authorities say the arrest followed a traffic stop in a residential area, where Green allegedly sped through a stop sign and was later pulled over at a gas station. During the stop, officers detected the smell of marijuana inside the vehicle and discovered a firearm on his person. A search of the car reportedly revealed further controlled substances. Green was booked into the Fulton County Jail and released the next day on an $8,000 bond.

The arrest coincided with a milestone in Green’s career, as he had just received his first Grammy nomination that same day. The nomination and arrest arriving together added public and media scrutiny to the case. Green’s legal team responded quickly, describing the arrest as the result of “unjust profiling” by the Atlanta Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit and stating they intend to challenge the legality of the stop and search.

This case is not the first legal incident Green has faced in Georgia. Earlier in 2025 he voluntarily turned himself in on warrants tied to an April incident in which police alleged his involvement in a burglary, firearm use and other weapons-related offences. His attorneys maintained at that time that Green was a victim and not a perpetrator.

Rod Wave has risen to prominence in the music industry with a soulful blend of R&B and hip-hop, releasing multiple platinum-certified singles and albums that have topped charts. He was scheduled to begin a major tour in December 2025, a plan now clouded by the arrest.

The charges he now faces carry serious potential legal consequences under Georgia law. Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of controlled substances are both felonies that can result in substantial prison time if convicted. Green’s defence team has indicated they will vigorously contest the case, challenging both the traffic stop’s justification and the handling of the search.

For now, Rod Wave’s arrest marks a pivotal moment in his career and personal life, raising questions about his legal future, professional commitments and public image.
