Shortly after the couple made a surprise appearance at the Games, the Chicago Bears player revealed on X that someone attempted to grab his shopping bag while he was out in Milan. In a post shared on Feb. 15, Owens explained that a person tried to snatch the bag from his hand. Fortunately, he had wrapped the strap around his wrist out of habit, which prevented the thief from taking it. He said the individual quickly ran away when the attempt failed, adding that the experience was still shocking.
When a social media user commented that it seemed like a bold move considering Owens’ profession, the 30 year old responded with humor.
He joked that the person was not particularly fast and said their arms were moving faster than their legs. Owens added that the would be thief appeared surprised once he realized Owens had turned around and still had hold of the bag.
Another user suggested that Owens should have tackled the person, but he replied that there was no need. Since the bag was secured around his
hand, he felt confident it could not be taken. He also noted that he had seen similar incidents online and was already cautious about keeping his belongings secure.
Meanwhile, Biles gave fans a glimpse into their day, sharing a photo on her Instagram Stories of the couple shopping at Bottega Veneta in Italy. She captioned the image with a playful note about being spoiled.
The couple also attended the men’s single figure skating competition on Feb. 13. While at the event, Biles praised the athletes competing on the ice. She told the audience that although she can skate, she does not have the skills displayed by the Olympians. She expressed admiration for their talent and said she was excited to watch them perform.
Other celebrities have also been spotted at the Milano Cortina Games. Jake Paul became emotional while watching his fiancée set a record in speed skating, and Snoop Dogg participated in a curling practice session as part of his role covering the Olympic.
