The Billboard 200 chart sees a dramatic shake-up this week as five debuting projects surge into the top 10, led by Travis Scott and his Jackboys collective claiming the No. 1 spot with Jackboys 2. The project launched with 232,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate data reported by Billboard, driven heavily by pure album sales.
Released via Scott’s Cactus Jack label, Jackboys 2 features contributions from Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, Chase B, SoFaygo, Wallie the Sensei, and Luxury Tax 50. The album was rolled out in multiple formats, including a seven-song EP with five vinyl variants and a 17-track expanded edition with five more configurations. A 20-song deluxe version followed at the tail end of the week. Despite only five days of tracking, Jackboys 2 dropped on a Sunday instead of the usual Friday. It still posted strong numbers, including 160,000 in pure sales. On the streaming front, the album clocked in at 94.86 million on-demand streams, making it only the fourth-most streamed album of the week.
Coming in at No. 2 is Justin Bieber with Swag, his first album in over four years. Bieber’s return arrived as a surprise digital-only drop, with no physical formats available and vinyl still months away. Nevertheless, Swag racked up 163,000 equivalent album units, an impressive figure considering just 6,000 came from actual sales, all digital downloads. The bulk of its performance came from streaming, with a staggering 198.77 million on-demand streams—Bieber’s best streaming week to date. The lead single, “Daisies,” topped streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music, helping Swag secure No. 1 on the streaming chart, even if it narrowly missed the top spot on the Billboard 200.
Morgan Wallen’s reign at No. 1 with I’m the Problem ended after eight weeks, as the album moved to No. 3 with a still-impressive 147,000 units, down just 3% from the prior week. Despite the slip, it remains a contender for a return to the top, though Tyler, the Creator’s surprise Monday release is expected to pose stiff competition in the coming chart cycle.
Other debuts rounding out the top 10 include Clipse’s comeback album Let God Sort Em Out at No. 4 with 118,000 units, K-pop group Twice’s This Is For at No. 6 with 80,000, and Giveon’s Beloved at No. 8 with 44,000.
Ateez returned to the top 10 at No. 7 with Golden Hour: Part 3, buoyed by a deluxe edition release that pushed it to 79,000 units. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, despite a 10,000-unit gain to 85,000, was nudged down to No. 5 due to the influx of new albums.
Rounding out the list are Wallen’s earlier hit One Thing at a Time at No. 9 and SZA’s enduring SOS at No. 10.
