Former NFL star and ESPN analyst Marcellus Wiley has been arrested in Florida and is currently facing a charge of domestic battery.
The 51-year-old was officially booked into the Orange County Jail on Thursday, July 4, following an alleged altercation over the holiday weekend.
According to custody records, first obtained by TMZ, the former athlete remains listed in the county jail system as of Sunday morning and is being held without bond.
Law enforcement officials have not yet released specific details regarding the exact circumstances that led to the domestic charge.
Furthermore, the identity of the other individual involved in the alleged physical incident has not been disclosed to the public at this stage of the investigation.
Wiley was originally selected by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft out of Columbia University.
He spent a full decade competing in the professional league, playing as a defensive end across multiple franchises.
During his extensive career, Wiley suited up for the Bills, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
He earned a Pro Bowl selection and Second-team All-Pro honors in 2001 after recording a career-high 13 sacks during his tenure with the Chargers.
Following his official retirement from professional football in 2006, Wiley transitioned into a national media career.
He became a familiar fixture on sports television, serving as a co-host for several prominent daily debate programs.
His broadcasting resume includes a lengthy stint at ESPN, where he co-hosted the afternoon television program SportsNation alongside a daily Los Angeles radio show.
His arrest comes just months after Wiley faced fresh allegations of sexual assault from four new accusers.
