Bebe Rexha has responded to online criticism targeting her appearance following her attendance at the 2026 American Music Awards.

The 36-year-old singer addressed the comments after facing a wave of social media discussion related to her look at the event, which took place on May 25. Rather than directly confronting the criticism, Rexha chose to shift the attention toward promoting her upcoming music project.

The conversation began when a social media user shared an older photo of the singer alongside a recent clip of her appearance at the awards ceremony and asked followers to share their first thoughts. Rexha replied with a calm and promotional response, writing that her main thought was that her new album, Dirty Blonde, would be released on June 12 and was already available for preorder.

The criticism directed at Rexha is not new. Over the years, the singer has repeatedly dealt with negative online commentary focused on her body and appearance. In 2023, she publicly addressed similar remarks after social media users discussed her weight gain.

At the time, Rexha openly acknowledged changes in her appearance while expressing frustration that her body had become such a frequent topic of conversation online. She explained that people experience weight fluctuations for many different reasons and reminded followers that health conditions and medication can also play a role.

Rexha has previously spoken publicly about living with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, commonly known as PCOS. The condition is a hormonal disorder that can contribute to symptoms such as weight gain, insulin resistance and other long-term health complications.

Back in 2023, the singer also revealed that she had been upset after noticing a TikTok search suggestion focused on her weight. She shared a screenshot of the search term on social media and admitted that seeing those comments was discouraging, even though she understood that her appearance had changed.

Despite the negativity, Rexha thanked supporters who continued to stand by her regardless of physical changes. Her latest response to online criticism suggests she is once again choosing to focus attention on her work rather than engaging deeply with harsh commentary.

The singer has continued promoting her upcoming album while encouraging fans to focus more on her music and artistic projects instead of discussions surrounding her appearance.
