Tank is once again defending Chris Brown after Pitchfork rated the singer's new album Brown a brutal 1.3 out of 10 and labeled the project "a real piece of shit" on X.
The R&B Money singer had already gone online last week to push back on negative commentary surrounding the album, framing Brown as a colleague deserving basic respect.
"The problem is most of you offer destructive criticism. You disguise hate for 'opinion'...You expect us, human beings, to just accept that and keep it moving!" Tank wrote on Instagram. "While I respect his humility in this moment he doesn't owe you that! Love it or hate have some fkn respect! Have some sense of morality or just be a decent human being while having an opinion! That's all we artists ask."
Pitchfork's 1.3 rating places Brown among the outlet's lowest-scored releases and fueled chatter around the album among fans. Tank caught wind of the comments and responded on X, dismissing the outlet with a short but pointed reaction.
"Pitch who?" Tank wrote alongside laughing emojis.
The Pitchfork review became one of the most discussed reactions to the album, with critics online pointing out that much of the article focused heavily on Brown's controversial history, including the 2009 assault case involving Rihanna, before diving deeply into the music itself.
That criticism was echoed by DJ Akademiks, who argued the review felt more focused on attacking Brown personally than an evaluation of the album.
"They gave his album a 1.3 and barely talked about the album," Akademiks said. "They spent more time talking about Rihanna and old controversies."
Akademiks acknowledged that some criticism of Brown's recent projects, particularly their lengthy track lists, is understandable but argued that Brown's talent and influence remain undeniable
