While promoting her new film _The Drama_ alongside co-star Robert Pattinson on an episode of _The New York Times’ Modern Love_ podcast released on April 1, Zendaya explained why she hasn’t directly confirmed or denied claims that she secretly wed Holland, as her stylist Law Roach suggested last month.
“I just feel like for me there is a level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand,” the 29-year-old said. “I’m aware that I'm a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don’t want to dismiss that like, ‘Stay out of my business’ or whatever.”
Although Zendaya has fueled speculation by wearing what appears to be a wedding band, she emphasized her desire to remain private. “In a lot of ways, I’m also a very private person and I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well,” she said.
She and Holland are not trying to “hide from the world,” but rather to “preserve things for ourselves so that we can maintain that joy just within ourselves and our loved ones and our family.”
