Audience members reported that the show was paused unexpectedly, with announcements asking them to remain seated as the situation was handled backstage. Megan was then taken to hospital, with no immediate update given on her condition.
Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, also confirmed the situation on social media, writing, “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.”
Before the incident, Megan had expressed excitement about stepping into the world of theatre, calling it “an absolute honor” and describing it as a new creative challenge. “I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace,” she said ahead of her debut.
Her run in the production began on March 24 and is scheduled to continue through May 17. The musical itself, based on the 2001 film, has been a major success on Broadway, earning multiple awards since its debut.
Megan is best known for hits such as _Savage_ and _Body_, and has won several Grammy Awards throughout her career.
Further updates on her condition are expected as medical evaluations continue.
