The Jennifer Hudson Show, which debuted in September 2022, has been renewed for a fifth season in syndication. Producer Telepictures announced the news on Feb. 19. In a statement reported by The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly, Hudson shared her excitement about continuing the program and said she looks forward to elevating it even further in the upcoming season.
The renewal comes at a time of change in the daytime television landscape. Two other popular talk shows, The Kelly Clarkson Show and Sherri, have recently announced their conclusions. Sherri was canceled in early February after four seasons, while Kelly Clarkson revealed that her show will end after seven seasons on air.
Hudson's series has built a loyal audience, thanks in part to her warm interviewing style and recurring viral segments such as the Spirit Tunnel. With support from Fox Television Stations, the show will continue airing across the country.
Hudson, an EGOT winner, expressed gratitude for the team behind the program. She said she feels honored to work alongside talented producers, a dedicated crew and supportive partners. Connecting with viewers nationwide and sharing uplifting, heartfelt stories has been a meaningful experience for her. She also credited the audience as the driving force behind the show's success, describing them as its heartbeat.
Lauren Blincoe, senior vice president of current programming for Telepictures, emphasized that the renewal reflects viewers' continued appreciation for positive and inspiring content. She praised Hudson's talent, generosity and leadership, noting that her presence sets the tone for the show. Blincoe also thanked the production team, station partners and loyal viewers for helping the series reach this milestone.
The conclusion of Sherri was confirmed by Lionsgate's Debmar Mercury, which stated that the decision was influenced by the evolving daytime television environment rather than the show's quality or creative direction. Sherri Shepherd has since expressed determination to keep the program alive in some form.
Kelly Clarkson similarly announced her departure, explaining that stepping away from the daily schedule will allow her to focus more on her children. Although her show will continue airing through fall 2026 with guest hosts, Hudson recently shared kind words for Clarkson, calling her amazing and wishing her continued success.
