According to reports that emerged on February 3, 2026, the popular talk show Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd, has been canceled. The show is expected to conclude its run at the end of its current fourth season, marking the end of a production that served as a spiritual successor to The Wendy Williams Show in the same time slot.

While neither Shepherd nor the show’s production company, Lionsgate’s Debmar- Mercury, have issued an official “farewell” statement to the public, social media analysts suggest that the decision was driven by a combination of rising production costs and a shifting syndication market. Despite Shepherd’s consistent energy and a loyal fanbase, the daytime TV environment in 2026 has become increasingly competitive, with several stations opting for lower-cost news programming or court shows to fill high-traffic afternoon slots.

Sherri first premiered in September 2022, following Shepherd’s successful stint as a permanent guest host for Wendy Williams. Throughout its four-season tenure, the show became known for its “Best Time Ever” atmosphere, focusing on celebrity interviews, pop culture “Hot Topics,” and Shepherd’s comedic monologues. The program earned several Daytime Emmy nominations and was praised for its positive, high-energy tone, which provided a distinct contrast to the more tabloid-heavy style of its predecessor.

The reported cancellation comes as a surprise to many, given that the series had been a solid performer in key demographics. Just last year, the show celebrated a milestone of 500 episodes and had secured renewals across major station groups, including FOX. However, as the industry moves further toward streaming-first models, traditional linear syndication has faced mounting financial pressure.

Fans of the show have already begun taking to social media to express their disappointment, with the hashtag #SaveSherri beginning to trend. For Shepherd, a veteran of The View and a seasoned stand-up comedian, the end of the talk show likely marks a transition back to her roots in scripted television and live performance. Production for Season 4 is expected to continue through the spring, with a series finale tentatively scheduled for June 2026. This exit leaves a major vacancy in the daytime lineup, sparking immediate speculation about what program will step in to fill the coveted hour previously held by one of daytime’s most recognizable voices.
