Rapper Offset is facing a new legal challenge after a security guard at an upscale Los Angeles dispensary filed a lawsuit accusing him of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The suit stems from an incident in March 2025 at the MedMen LAX location, where guard Jim Sanchez claims the rapper and his entourage physically attacked him after he asked for identification.
According to the complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in late October 2025, the encounter began when Offset and his associates entered the dispensary and Sanchez asked for an ID (part of the store’s entry protocol). Sanchez alleges that Offset responded by becoming hostile and physically striking him in the face, followed by others in the rapper’s group “grabbing, pushing and further assaulting” him. The guard claims his injuries included severe neck pain and headaches and that he required medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
Sanchez is seeking general and special damages, plus punitive relief, for medical costs, lost wages, emotional suffering and physical pain. While the lawsuit does not list a specific dollar amount, it mentions the guard’s intent to pursue a jury trial. Official filings also state that paramedics responded to the scene, taking Sanchez to emergency medical care.
Offset and his representatives deny the allegations. In earlier commentary, they called the accusations “complete and total BS,” claiming the guard initiated the altercation by rushing at the rapper, spitting on him, and using mace against Offset and his entourage. In that version of events, Offset’s side says he acted in self-defense.
The case adds to a growing list of legal issues surrounding the rapper, including significant unpaid tax liabilities and his ongoing divorce from fellow star Cardi B. This assault lawsuit could complicate his public image and legal strategy going forward. In this case, Sanchez’s medical documentation and eyewitness accounts will be critical.
