The couple first met in 2015 and began dating a few years later. They became more publicly known as a pair around 2018. In 2022, they announced a split after about four years together. However, in late 2024 and into 2025, reports emerged that the two had quietly reunited, affirming their bond and commitment to work on their future together.
In interviews following the engagement, Powers revealed that he had been planning the proposal for approximately 18 months. He acknowledged that he delayed the moment at times, but emphasized he never doubted the timing would eventually be right. The couple described the actual proposal as intimate and meaningful.
