On the day before his scheduled federal sentencing, Sean “Diddy” Combs was hit with two fresh sexual assault lawsuits filed by attorney Tony Buzbee. The complaints come at a critical moment, adding new civil claims amid a high-stakes criminal case already in its final phase.
The first lawsuit was filed by Lakeisha Ward, who alleges that in 2018, at a pool party held at Diddy’s Los Angeles home, she was drugged and became disoriented after consuming a drink. She claims that, after being led to a bedroom, she was sexually assaulted by Diddy while in a weakened state. She also asserts that she was asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement prior to entering the party.
The second complaint was filed by Dejoan Bledsoe, who says the alleged assault occurred in 2009 when she was 18 years old. Bledsoe alleges that Diddy lured her to a party at the Beverly Hills Plaza Hotel under promises of a recording opportunity, drugged her and engaged In sexual acts while she lapsed in and out of consciousness.
Both women are represented by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, who has in recent months filed a wave of lawsuits against Diddy representing dozens of accusers across California and New York. The new filings seek both compensatory and punitive damages for the alleged injuries.
These claims arrive at a moment of intense scrutiny for Combs. He was convicted in July 2025 of two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution but was acquitted of more serious charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The convictions carry a potential maximum of 10 years per count, exposing him to up to 20 years in prison. His sentencing is set for October 3, 2025.
The timing of the new lawsuits is notable. Filing them on the eve of sentencing could complicate the optics of his legal narrative and may be aimed at pressing further pressure on him in the court of public opinion. Combs has been Incarcerated since September 2024 after multiple requests for bail were denied.
As of now, Diddy and his legal team have not publicly responded to the latest allegations. Whether these new claims will influence sentencing remains to be seen, but their emergence underscores the depth and persistence of the legal challenges facing the music mogul.
