Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have reignited their long-running feud in a heated clash on Twitter (X), trading personal insults that spilled far beyond music. What began as a dispute over album sales quickly escalated into deeply personal territory, with both rappers targeting each other’s families and reputations.
The drama erupted after Cardi B celebrated her new album Am I the Drama? Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Minaj appeared to throw shade by tweeting “$4.99,” a jab at the discounted sales price, and implied Cardi’s success was inflated. She followed with a string of taunts, parodying Cardi’s lyrics and mocking her pregnancy. One post read: “FALLIN off the charts wit a big bellyyyy … Still. You. Could. Not. Outsell. Meeeeee.”
Cardi fired back almost immediately, calling Minaj “Cocaine Barbie” and accusing her of hypocrisy. She invoked Minaj’s brother’s criminal conviction and her husband’s past legal issues, while insisting Minaj compare herself to peers like Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Drake instead of younger rivals. When Minaj dragged Cardi’s daughter Kulture into the feud with the tweet, “Kulture vulture you ugly too,” Cardi responded fiercely, defending her child and warning Minaj not to involve her family.
The exchange spiraled into attacks on motherhood and fertility. Minaj denied having health struggles, while Cardi accused her of relying on “fertility doctors” due to alleged drug use. Minaj retaliated with more remarks about Cardi’s daughter, prompting Cardi to fire back by targeting Minaj’s son.
This bitter back-and-forth isn’t the first time tensions between the two have boiled over. Their feud dates back to 2018 when they infamously clashed at New York Fashion Week, an incident that reportedly turned physical. Since then, their rivalry has periodically reignited through interviews and online spats.
Fans watching the latest blowup expressed frustration, noting that the feud has crossed into unacceptable territory by dragging children into the insults. Many have called for both artists to keep family out of their disagreements, warning that the feud risks overshadowing their music.
