Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson is being sought by Fulton County authorities in connection with a fatal dog attack in his Buckhead, Atlanta neighborhood. According to police, his four Cane Corso dogs are accused of mauling a neighbor’s dog to death on the night of September 18.
The victim was a 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry. The dog’s owner, Harrison Parker, says he let Henry out into his front yard, expecting the usual routine. Minutes later, he returned to find Henry lying dead with visible puncture wounds and signs of internal trauma. The animals were said to have attacked swiftly.
Capt. Nicole Dwyer, head of the Fulton County Animal Services unit, confirmed that an arrest warrant has been issued for Tyrese on a charge of cruelty to animals. She described evidence that the dogs had been seen roaming loose on numerous occasions prior to the incident, and that neighbours had reported unsettling behavior. In video footage captured by nearby security cameras, the Cane Corsos are shown scratching at doors and wandering yards close to the time of the attack.
Police say that prior warnings had been issued to Tyrese about his dogs’ propensity to escape. On September 22, authorities attempted to require him to surrender the animals, but he requested extra days before complying. When officers later returned with a search warrant, neither Tyrese nor the dogs were found on the property. Investigators believe the dogs were moved in the interim.
Cane Corsos are powerful guard breeds, and neighbors had expressed concern over several prior instances of aggressive or unchecked behavior. One neighbor reported that earlier in the month, a dog owner could not reach their vehicle because Gibson’s dogs were blocking the path.
Tyrese’s attorney has not publicly responded to the warrant or the charges as of now. Meanwhile, local officials are stressing the serious responsibility that comes with owning large dogs and the need for owners to ensure they are properly contained and supervised. The case remains under investigation and for now, Tyrese is wanted by police
