Lizzo has once again opened up about her personal transformation, revealing how she has embraced a healthier lifestyle while staying true to herself.

In an interview with Women's Health U.K., the 37-year-old singer discussed her approach to wellness and how it fits within her long-standing advocacy for body positivity. "It's a beautiful balance where it's like, if you allow yourself to have something, you can enjoy it without overindulging and hurting yourself," she shared. "I'm so proud of myself for overcoming that."

The Grammy Award winner, who has been vocal about body image throughout her career, addressed her evolving relationship with her body and food. "There were times when I would eat so much that my stomach hurt," she revealed. "I couldn't breathe and wouldn't let anyone know. I would hide it." She attributed this to emotional eating triggered by stress, anxiety, or work pressure. Over time, she has learned to manage these patterns and develop what she calls a "very sustainable" lifestyle.

Despite noticeable changes in her physique, Lizzo maintains that her core identity remains the same. "I like how I look now. I still think I'm big. I'm still wearing plus-size clothing. I got the same belly, the same thighs—I think I'm just a smaller version," she said.

While she has celebrated milestones such as achieving her "weight release goal" and reducing her BMI, Lizzo noted that such changes have sparked fresh criticism. "Me saying I love myself in 2016 was offensive to people... You are fat and Black and you're a woman, so you shouldn't love yourself," she said. "Now I'm fighting again."

Lizzo has also faced legal battles, including a 2023 lawsuit from former dancers and additional allegations from a former stylist. Though some claims have been dismissed, she addressed the controversy, calling the allegations "silly" and "ridiculous," and adding, "Only God can cancel me now."

The full interview appears in Women's Health U.K.'s September issue.
