Paris Jackson and Justin Long have officially called off their engagement, around eight months after sharing news of their plans to marry. On July 31, the 27-year-old artist addressed the breakup through a post on X, saying, "Those are breakup tears. y'all are fkn reaching again," in response to emotional paparazzi photos of her in Malibu.
The breakup marks the end of a three-year relationship that began backstage at The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in 2022. Recalling their first meeting, Paris told Access Hollywood in June, "He's a sound engineer and we were looking over the tape. He wanted to interject, and he wanted to put in his two cents. He looked at me and was like, 'Can I?' And I was like, 'I trust you.' And we had a little moment."
By December 2024, the couple made their engagement public in an Instagram birthday tribute for Long. "Happy birthday my sweet blue," Paris wrote. "Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and i couldn't dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with. Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you." The post, which included photos of the proposal, has since been deleted from her feed.
At the time, Jackson was deep into wedding planning. "The dress is being made, the venue has been picked, and the date has been picked by an astrologer," she shared. Laughing, she added, "Because I'm from L.A. All about the crystals and the astrologer."
The couple had appeared together as recently as June, attending the Tribeca Festival premiere of Paris's film One Spoon of Chocolate. Just weeks before the breakup confirmation, Jackson posted backstage snapshots from her summer tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra, writing, "It's been a hell of a summer so far."
Despite the glamorous engagement, the relationship quietly unravelled. While the reasons behind the split remain undisclosed, signs emerged as Jackson removed photos of Long from her Instagram.
In previous interviews, Jackson has discussed her views on relationships and personal identity, explaining that her current priorities lie in her spiritual journey and music career. She has also spoken candidly about her sexuality, expressing that her romantic connections are based more on a person's character than gender or physical traits.
Justin Long has not publicly addressed the breakup.
