Brittany Renner, known from Basketball Wives and her high-profile relationships, has confirmed that her marriage to rapper Kevin Gates lasted only 52 days. The couple quietly wed on April 6, 2025, and formally divorced on May 28, 2025, as Renner revealed during a latest interview on Los Angeles radio station REAL 92.3 LA.

During the interview, Renner explained that their shared Islamic faith guided their decisions. She described the 90-day waiting period, known as iddah, which serves multiple purposes including confirming pregnancy, encouraging reconciliation and providing a time for introspection and healing. “Islam has made my life easier,” she said of the structure it offers, adding that the break allowed her to reset and fully focus on herself.

Despite the brevity of the marriage, Renner expressed profound peace and clarity. “I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation,” she stated. “What is meant to be is always going to be.” She emphasized she has “no regrets,” and feels at ease knowing she followed her heart and gave 100 percent to the relationship. “When you do, you’re at peace with whatever happens,” she reflected.

Just weeks before the split, Renner had gushed over Gates at a May event, describing him as “the person that I quite literally dreamed of,” calling him “the most beautiful person inside and out”

Since the divorce announcement, Renner has remained composed and confident, making a solo appearance at the 2025 BET Awards while donning a modest hijab and stylish attire. That evening, she reiterated her stance that “all is well” and again emphasized her lack of regret in giving her all to the marriage.

Kevin Gates has not publicly responded in depth, simply extending well-wishes and stating at the BET Awards that “who I love, I don’t discuss,” before expressing hope for Renner’s well-being.
