A judge has turned down DDG’s attempt to stop Halle Bailey from traveling internationally with their 17-month-old son, Halo.
Court documents obtained by *PEOPLE* on Thursday, June 5, show that the judge rejected DDG’s emergency request to block Bailey, best known for her role in *The Little Mermaid*, from taking their child out of the country. His motion also included a request for a temporary restraining order against Bailey, which was also denied.
The decision came after DDG — whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. — filed the emergency request on Wednesday, June 4. In response, Bailey submitted her own filing asking the court to dismiss his motion and approve her request to take Halo on a vacation to Italy.
At this time, neither Bailey nor DDG’s representatives have issued a public statement regarding the court’s decision.
In his filings, DDG asked the court to prohibit Bailey from taking Halo out of the country, specifically for their trip to Italy. He also sought a domestic violence restraining order, alleging that Bailey presented a serious emotional and psychological threat to their child due to what he described as repeated threats of self-harm. DDG argued that if Halo left the country, he would no longer be under the court’s protection or have access to emergency services.
Earlier in May, Bailey was granted temporary legal and physical custody of Halo after she accused DDG of physical and emotional abuse. A temporary restraining order was also issued at that time, requiring DDG to stay at least 100 yards away from both Bailey and their son. That order remains in effect until a court hearing scheduled for June 4, 2025.
Bailey has asked the court to deny DDG any visitation rights but has also proposed allowing him to have supervised visits with Halo. Under her request, visits would be limited to once a week for six hours and must be conducted through a professional supervising agency while Halo is in Los Angeles. She also requested that DDG be barred from taking their son out of Los Angeles County.
The couple, who began dating in 2022, officially ended their relationship in 2024.
