A former security guard at the Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City at Beverly Hills Hotel testified that Sean “Diddy” Combs tried to pay him off to remain silent about video footage of him assaulting his then girlfriend, Cassandra Ventura. In the surveillance footage, Diddy, only in a white towel, was physically violent towards Ventura. This incident happened in 2016, however, CNN obtained and released the footage in 2024.

According to Israel Florez, the then former hotel security, he received a call from Ventura who seemed distressed, and after checking the security cameras, he saw Diddy passing back and forth in the hallway. He claims that on arrival, he found Cassie on the ground and he told them to take their dispute to their room. Due to the altercation, a vase was broken, therefore, he informed them that they would be charged for it.

Florez also claims that Cassie wanted to take her bag and phone so she could exit the hotel, however, Diddy refused. He alleges that later that day, Diddy offered him a stack of cash in exchange for his silence but he refused. He claims Diddy also snatched his phone, therefore having to explain to him that he only had his phone to take pictures of the broken vase for an incident report. Florez admitted to showing the footage to his wife when he got home, however, when he returned to work after two days, the footage was gone.

Florez is being cross – examined by Diddy’s attorney, Brian Steel. Steel asks about missing details in Flores’ report, including the fact that Combs allegedly told Cassie she couldn’t leave the hotel room. Florez also did not add that he offered to call law enforcement but Cassie refused.
