Rapper Kanye West has sent his ex – wife and mother of his children, Kim Kardashian, a cease and desist letter, claiming he is “concerned” about the welfare of their children and is seeking legal custody. He claims Kim Kardashian has broken their custody agreement multiple times, citing the recent met gala as an example. He claims that during the event, Kim Kardashian left their daughter, North West alone for some time, therefore, exposing them to “significant media attention.” Kanye West went to express his disappointment by stating that Kim has frequently been posting their daughter on TikTok, despite him being against it.
The cease and desist letter reportedly outlines several recent instances in which Kim has shared videos and images of the children, especially North, who has gained significant online attention through joint TikTok videos with her mother. Kanye’s team argues that this exposure leaves their children vulnerable to public scrutiny, online harassment, and potential exploitation. “Ye has made it clear time and time again that he does not consent to his children being on social media,” a source familiar with the situation told entertainment outlets. “This isn’t about controlling Kim — it’s about protecting his kids.”
Kanye West also alleges that Kim is not allowing him to see their children, citing he has not met his son Saint in all of 2025. He claims his visitation rights have been “unreasonably” restricted. Kanye’s main request is that the reality TV star should stop posting their children on social media and wants her to stop involving them in public events.
Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, has not publicly responded to the cease and desist, but sources close to her claim that she believes sharing parts of their lives online is harmless and, at times, empowering for her children, especially North, who has expressed a love for music, fashion and creative expression. “Kim views these platforms as a way for her children to connect with the world in a positive way,” an insider explained. “She monitors all activity closely and believes she’s acting in their best interest.”
This is not the first time the couple has clashed over parenting styles in the public eye. Since their divorce in 2022, Kanye and Kim have had several disagreements, with Kanye previously voicing concern during interviews and on social media about not being involved enough in key decisions affecting their children. He has often cited the influence of the entertainment industry and social media as harmful to their upbringing.
