Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are showing what their relationship looks like when they are on the same side of the court.

The two basketball stars, who became closely linked after their memorable clash during the 2023 NCAA tournament, are now teammates for the United States at the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Rather than allowing their history to define their relationship, both players say they have enjoyed learning how to play alongside each other.

After Team USA's 108-56 victory over Hungary on Thursday, Reese spoke about the chemistry developing between them. Having spent years competing against Clark, the Atlanta Dream star said they already understand each other's playing styles.

"We've played against each other so many times, so I'm sure we know each other's game like the back of each other's hand," Reese said.

The pair connected several times during the tournament, with Reese noting that they have been passing the ball to one another and becoming more comfortable on the court.

"It's fun," she said. "We just continue to build chemistry because we know we're going to be USA teammates for a while."

Clark has also spoken positively about playing with Reese, praising her competitiveness and work ethic. She described them as "fiery competitors" and said Reese has a tremendous motor and works as hard as anyone on the court.

"It's been fun to be able to play with her," Clark said.

Their growing chemistry comes after years of intense attention surrounding their rivalry. Their 2023 NCAA matchup between Iowa and LSU, which LSU won, turned the two into major figures in women's basketball and sparked constant discussion about their relationship.

Clark said the narratives surrounding the pair have not always reflected reality.

"No matter what, there's always going to be people that create those narratives and say whatever they want to say," she said. "I think for ourselves, like I said, it's easy for us to just come in here and compete."

For now, the two are focused on the same goal with Team USA.
