Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are officially married, marking a new chapter in their relationship after more than nine years together.
The Portuguese football star, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, tied the knot in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11, 2026. According to a statement about the wedding, the intimate occasion was attended by the couple's five children.
Ronaldo confirmed the marriage on Instagram by sharing a photograph of the couple's hands, showing their wedding bands. He captioned the image simply, "C❤️G."
The wedding comes exactly one year after Rodríguez announced their engagement on social media. At the time, she shared a photograph of her hand resting over Ronaldo's, displaying a large oval-shaped diamond engagement ring alongside her announcement writing, "Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas," which translates to, "Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives."
The couple first met in 2017, when Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store. They made their first public appearance together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich that year before confirming their relationship on social media several months later.
Ronaldo previously reflected on the beginning of their relationship in Rodríguez's Netflix series I Am Georgina. Although he initially did not expect the romance to become serious, he eventually realized how strongly he felt about her.
"I didn't think at the beginning that [the relationship] would be this strong, that I would fall in love with her," Ronaldo said. "But after a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life."
The couple have built a family together, raising five children. Their children are twins Eva Maria and Mateo, daughter Alana, daughter Bella and Ronaldo's eldest son, Cristiano Jr., from a previous relationship. In 2022, the couple also experienced the loss of Bella's twin brother, Ángel, who died during childbirth.
