Bad Bunny is officially taking center stage at the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The Puerto Rican megastar, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was announced as the headliner during Sunday night's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers. The NFL teased the reveal on social media moments before confirming the news live during halftime.
The highly anticipated event will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It will be presented by Apple Music and executive produced by Roc Nation, marking the seventh year of their collaboration with the NFL.
In a dramatic announcement video shared on Instagram, Bad Bunny sits atop a goalpost at sunset, with text revealing his upcoming performance. In a statement, he expressed gratitude and pride:
"What I'm feeling goes beyond myself. This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Tell your grandma we're taking over the Super Bowl halftime stage!"
This will be Bad Bunny's second time performing at the Super Bowl — he first appeared as a guest during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's 2020 set. Since then, his career has skyrocketed. His sixth album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year, and his record-breaking Puerto Rico residency boosted the island's economy while featuring numerous surprise celebrity guests.
Jay-Z, whose company Roc Nation helps select halftime performers, praised Bad Bunny's impact:
"What Benito has done for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world's biggest stage."
Recent halftime show headliners include Kendrick Lamar in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023. Lamar's performance shattered viewing records with 133.5 million viewers.
Bad Bunny's performance is expected to draw an even larger global audience, with fans eager to see how he blends Latin music and culture on one of the most-watched stages in the world.
The 2026 Super Bowl will air live on NBC on February 8, promising an unforgettable celebration of music, sports, and culture.
