Law Roach has no hard feelings about losing Keke Palmer as a client, admitting that his fashion vision for the actress did not match what she wanted at the time.

Speaking on the October 20 episode of Aspire with Emma Grede, the celebrity stylist explained that their working relationship struggled because he could not deliver the looks Palmer had in mind. Rather than taking her decision personally, he believes she made the right call.

"I couldn't get it right," Roach said. "To me, that wasn't personal. I love Keke to death. It was a business decision that she should've made."

He recalled Palmer telling him directly why their partnership was not working. "She called me and said, 'You might be the best stylist in the world, but you are not the best stylist for me.'"

Roach, who has styled stars including Zendaya and Celine Dion, said he understood her position. Despite his experience in the fashion industry, he recognised that being a successful stylist did not necessarily mean he was the right fit for every client.

"She knows exactly who she needs and what she wanted and I couldn't deliver ... and I'm not mad at that," he added.

Their differences became particularly apparent when Palmer was pregnant with her son, Leodis "Leo" Andrellton, whom she welcomed with her former boyfriend Darius Jackson in February 2023.

According to Roach, Palmer wanted to keep her pregnancy private, leaving him to find outfits that concealed her growing baby bump. He, however, had hoped to take a different approach by making the pregnancy part of her fashion story.

"She was pregnant," he said. "And she was lying about being pregnant. This lady had me putting her in all these clothes, hiding this baby bump and everybody in the world knew she was pregnant and she didn't want to tell anybody, which is her choice."

Roach wanted to dress Palmer in a way that highlighted her bump, but she was not ready to share that part of her life publicly.

The two have since spoken openly about their split, making it clear that their professional differences did not damage their personal relationship.

During a 2024 panel celebrating Roach's book, How to Build a Fashion Icon, Palmer joked that "Law lives for a drag." Roach responded affectionately, telling her, "So I will always love you."

He said he continues to recount the experience proudly, describing Palmer's decision as "a great business decision."
