Tiffany Haddish is seeking to have her long running DUI case in Georgia dismissed, arguing that years of delays have violated her constitutional right to a speedy trial.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the actress and comedian filed a motion asking the court to throw out the case after it reportedly remained unresolved for more than four years.

Haddish was arrested in January 2022 in Peachtree City, Georgia, after police said they found her asleep behind the wheel around 4 a.m. Authorities arrested her on charges related to DUI and improper stopping on a roadway after allegedly believing she had smoked marijuana.

In the new filing, Haddish claimed the case has remained stuck because the judge has yet to rule on key legal motions, including a motion to suppress evidence that was argued in court in May 2024. Her lawyers reportedly stated that they repeatedly contacted the court over the last two years for updates but were continually told officials were still  “working on it.”
