Britney Spears' representative has responded to reports claiming the singer behaved erratically during a recent dinner outing and allegedly frightened restaurant patrons while holding a knife.

In a statement released on Thursday, May 14, Spears' rep dismissed the claims as exaggerated and misleading. According to the statement, the singer was simply having a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard and did not threaten anyone during the evening.

The representative explained that Spears had been discussing a story about her dog barking at neighbors and was using a knife only to cut her hamburger in half while eating. They strongly denied suggestions that she had endangered anyone at the restaurant.

The statement also criticized ongoing media scrutiny surrounding the singer, arguing that ordinary moments in Spears' life are often sensationalized. Her representative compared the latest reports to the intense media attention Spears faced earlier in her career, saying she was once again being unfairly portrayed negatively.

The comments came after TMZ published a report citing unnamed sources who claimed Spears had been behaving loudly during dinner at Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks, California, on Wednesday night. According to the report, some customers allegedly felt uncomfortable after seeing the singer holding a knife while walking through the restaurant.

Entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider also commented on the outing on social media, describing the evening as unusual and claiming some diners reacted strongly to Spears' behavior. His posts quickly gained attention online and fueled further speculation about the incident.

The reports surfaced only days after Spears shared a reflective Instagram post discussing what she described as a spiritual journey. In the post, she uploaded photos featuring a baby snake and wrote about themes of healing, luck, and self-awareness.

Spears said she felt grateful for the support of friends and new people she had met during this chapter of her life. She also admitted she was still learning how to speak more kindly to herself and described personal growth as an ongoing process.

The recent headlines also follow Spears' legal resolution earlier this month stemming from a March arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura, California. On May 4, her attorney, Michael A. Goldstein, entered a guilty plea on her behalf to a reduced reckless driving charge.

As part of the sentencing, Spears received probation, mandatory counseling requirements, and enrollment in a DUI program. Her attorney said at the time that she had accepted responsibility for her actions and was taking meaningful steps toward positive change.

Despite renewed public attention surrounding her personal life, Spears' team continues to push back against what they view as exaggerated portrayals of the singer's behavior.
