Todd Bridges has initiated legal steps to end his marriage to Bettijo B. BHirschi.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Diff’rent Strokes actor, 60, filed a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage Without Minor Children on Tuesday, March 31, in a Maricopa County court in Arizona. In the filing, he stated that the marriage is irretrievably broken as the basis for seeking a divorce.
The documents show that both Bridges and Hirschi, who works as a photographer and designer, have agreed that there are no shared
community assets or outstanding debts. Neither party is seeking spousal support. The terms of the separation have already been resolved through a mutual agreement reached outside of court.
Court records also indicate that both individuals are representing themselves in the proceedings rather than working through legal counsel.
The news was first reported by Us Weekly.
The filing comes approximately three months after the couple publicly announced their separation in January. At the time, Bridges shared a statement reflecting on the decision, describing it as difficult and emotionally significant. He explained that the choice followed careful thought and personal reflection, and he expressed gratitude for the time they had spent together.
In his earlier remarks, Bridges highlighted appreciation for the experiences they shared, the lessons learned during their marriage, and the family they built together. He also noted that he hoped for healing and peace for both himself and Hirschi as they moved forward into separate paths. He requested privacy during the transition and extended well wishes to his former partner.
Bridges and Hirschi first met in January 2022 through a dating app connection introduced by a friend of Hirschi’s. She later shared during a December 2024 appearance on the Tamron Hall Show that she had initially been hesitant about using dating apps but agreed to meet Bridges.
The couple became engaged about six months after they met and married in September 2022. This marks Bridges’ second divorce. He was previously married to Dori, with whom he shares two children. Hirschi also has four children from a prior marriage.
During their marriage, the pair combined their families and worked together professionally, including co launching a podcast in 2024 that explored topics such as relationships, family life, and mental health.
