The 55 year old actress stars as Fran, a strict and frugal casino accountant who is determined to cut back on rewards and cash back programs offered by the brand. Henson said she was immediately drawn to the character, describing Fran as funny and entertaining. She added that the role appealed to her because of her personal interest in games, which made the concept feel like a natural fit.
Although the campaign centers around a casino setting, Henson clarified that she is not heavily into gambling. Instead, she enjoys playing casual games on her iPad. She shared that she often spends time on cooking games, puzzles and card games like Spades. According to her, gaming has become a regular part of her routine, even during busy workdays.
Henson explained that she can move quickly between emotional acting scenes and lighthearted gaming, something that often surprises people around her. She noted that she might finish filming an intense scene and immediately turn to her device to relax with a game, which she admits can seem unusual to others.
The first advertisement in the series, titled "Our Accountant Hates Us," is set to premiere on March 18, with more installments planned. The campaign, themed "The House Always Rewards," focuses on highlighting the benefits offered by Fanatics, while Henson's character serves as a humorous contrast by trying to limit those perks.
Fanatics Chief Marketing Officer Selena Kalvaria praised Henson's performance, saying her humor and relatable presence make the character stand out. She noted that Fran works well as a foil to the brand's message of rewarding players.
Outside of her on screen work, Henson revealed that shopping is another personal indulgence. She admitted that she shops frequently and finds enjoyment in browsing a wide range of places, from small kiosks to larger retail stores. She joked that if a shopping themed game existed, she would likely be drawn to it as well.
Henson is also preparing for her Broadway debut in the play Joe Turner's Come and Gone, where she will star alongside Cedric the Entertainer. Looking ahead, she plans to return to television and is currently working on new projects, including a series developed with 50 Cent for Peacock.
For now, Henson says her goal is simple. Whether through acting, advertising or stage performances, she hopes to keep audiences entertained and laughing, something she believes is essential in everyday life.
