Producer Metro Boomin, real name Leland Tyler Wayne, has released a public statement following a Los Angeles civil trial in which a jury found him not liable on all counts of sexual assault and battery raised by plaintiff Vanessa LeMaistre.
LeMaistre’s lawsuit, filed in October 2024, accused Wayne of drugging and raping her in 2016, alleging that she blacked out after consuming alcohol and Xanax at his studio and later awoke in a hotel in a disoriented state. She further claimed the incident resulted in a pregnancy, which she aborted. Wayne consistently denied the allegations, maintaining that any encounters had been consensual.
The trial concluded with a swift verdict. After approximately one hour of deliberation, the eight-member jury unanimously decided in favor of Wayne, ruling that the plaintiff had failed to prove her claims beyond a preponderance of the evidence.
In the statement he issued shortly after the verdict, Metro Boomin expressed deep relief at being cleared. He described the case as having taken a heavy toll on both his personal life and professional reputation. “I’m grateful and thankful to God that I can finally put all of this nonsense behind me,” he said. He further noted that while the court outcome was a victory, the entire process had brought “a long list of losses” in time, money and opportunities. He also spoke of the emotional strain on his family, particularly the siblings he legally adopted and cares for.
Wayne called the accusations “disgusting and heinous,” saying that despite how he treats others and conducts himself publicly, he never imagined being accused of such acts. He criticized the plaintiff’s attorneys, referring to their decision to bring the suit as lacking merit from the start. He also thanked his legal team, loved ones, and supporters for standing by him throughout the ordeal.
LeMaistre’s legal team expressed disappointment in the verdict and said they plan to appeal, asserting that errors in the trial warrant further adjudication of her claims. The case has drawn public attention because of Wayne’s high profile in the music industry.
With the jury’s verdict behind him and his name legally cleared in this matter, Metro Boomin now seeks to move forward from the controversy. Yet the case leaves lingering questions about the producers’ reputation, accountability and the long shadow cast by high-stakes allegations.
