JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez's relationship troubles were evident long before their July split, as seen in recent episodes of Love Island: Beyond the Villa.
During the August 14 episode, JaNa, 28, recalled an awkward anniversary dinner with Kenny, 24, in Los Angeles. The couple, who had been together for nine months, clashed over their differing views on living together. Tension rose when Kenny revealed he had spoken to Miguel Harichi about their living situation, mistakenly suggesting they were both fine with living separately.
"I voiced to him [that] I want separation from you," Kenny told JaNa during the dinner. Speaking later with her friends Leah Kateb and Serena Page, JaNa described his demeanour: "He just gave me straight eye contact, like he just locked in. It looked like he was giving me serial killer vibes. When he shuts down, he just like, was locked in on me."
Leah called it "so awkward" that Kenny was "just staring and not talking." Serena agreed, adding, "I would have to go home."
Kenny later apologized to JaNa, acknowledging that remaining silent during the disagreement had been the wrong approach. In a conversation with Miguel, he reflected that he had been in a low mood that evening and had misspoken about their living situation.
Looking back, he recognized that JaNa had wanted them to live together, while he had been the hesitant one, which caused him to shut down for the rest of the night.
The disagreement over living arrangements was a recurring issue. While JaNa hoped time together filming in Los Angeles would convince Kenny to move in with her, he remained uncertain. With his lease in Dallas ending soon, Kenny noted that JaNa seemed "stuck" on staying in Las Vegas.
Differences also emerged over their views on marriage. While some of their fellow cast members were ready to take that step, Kenny reportedly had no clear timeline. JaNa expressed that she wanted marriage in the near future but preferred to ensure the relationship felt secure and exciting rather than drawn out.
A source confirmed that JaNa ended the relationship in July. Following the split, she wrote on Instagram that the breakup was "terrible, disgusting and disappointing," adding, "Discovering that someone you loved isn't who you thought they were... has been truly devastating."
Kenny responded on his own Instagram Story, saying breakups "are never easy" and that their relationship "was not something that could last long-term." JaNa later fired back, calling him a "manipulative liar."
