SZA is putting a pause on her correspondence with Nicki Minaj. SZA hasn't been scared to defend herself when the "Super Bass" rapper continues to criticize the "Kill Bill" singer and celebrities like Jay-Z and Megan Thee Stallion online. In fact, the 35-year-old retaliated immediately after Nicki called her a "fake girl's girl."

On July 16, SZA responded to Nicki via X, saying, "Lol, you're having a moment." "Be blessed; I'm not sure why."

Nicki included a video from the 2018 Met Gala in her first post, in which Rihanna was seen trying to get SZA's attention on the steps as she entered the party.

"These girls are fake; they talk shit but will run you down for a photo or do shit like this on camera to pretend they’re not the haters they really are,” Nicki alleged in reply to the video. “Man, it’s so freeing to REALLY be yourself.”

The "Special" singer was featured on Rihanna's 2016 album, ANTI, and although SZA and Rihanna don't interact in the video, the two musicians have had positive public interactions in the past, which SZA has shared on social media.

However, SZA claimed that she had denied Nicki's requests for a feature in relation to her.

SZA added in her July 16 X post, which also included a screenshot of purported texts from Nicki, "You absolutely know my music and what I contribute because you've asked for features twice to no response." "Apart from rapping my lyrics about how I feel."

After Nicki accused rapper Punch, who is signed to SZA's Top Dawg Entertainment label, of "bullying" her on social media, the two started an online feud on July 15.

"Mercury retrograde...don't take the bait, lol, silly goose," SZA casually tweeted that same day.

Mercury retrograde, which is expected to throw egos off rhythm, may have started early because of Nicki and SZA's feud, even though it doesn't start until the evening of July 17.
