Simon Guobadia, the Nigerian-American entrepreneur and ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, recently told Page Six that he “absolutely” regrets marrying the reality TV personality, asserting he “was targeted for financial reasons” from day one. He shared that their whirlwind romance, engaging within 30 days and marrying in November 2022, “felt like a coup,” leaving him “totally blindsided” when Williams filed for divorce in February 2024. According to Guobadia, she never voiced concerns or issues before abruptly initiating the split.
Guobadia alleges that Williams approached the marriage when he was vulnerable (fresh from a high-profile divorce with Falynn and battling his immigration status) and that she “prayed for him” in his DMs during that period. He cites entering a prenuptial agreement as part of what he now calls a calculated plan that culminated in her filing for divorce exactly 14 months later, a move he now believes was orchestrated for financial benefit.
The divorce decree upheld the prenup, granting Williams $40,000 per month in alimony for the duration of their marriage and the right to remain in their Atlanta home for up to 36 months. Guobadia says he will fight the ruling, vowing to appeal “with 1,000% certainty—even all the way to the Supreme Court.”
On the issue of child support, Simon takes issue with Porsha’s response while he was detained by ICE. Though she covered some payments totaling $5,000, he claims her gesture lacked sincerity and was made solely for optics in court, not genuinely “in good faith.”
Guobadia’s broader narrative paints a picture of being ensnared in a lavish but ultimately exploitative relationship. He likened the marriage to a costly “$5 million rehab project” and has publicly expressed his deep regret over how quickly everything escalated. The marriage’s fallout was compounded by his arrest by ICE earlier this year and subsequent deportation to Nigeria.
