On June 3, Cardi B broke her silence in a candid X Spaces session, recounting the emotional toll of her turbulent relationship with Offset. The revelation came just a day after the rapper publicly confirmed her new romance with NFL star Stefon Diggs. The conversation, raw and personal, laid bare the mental health struggles she says nearly pushed her past her limits.

“I don’t think people understand how tired I was,” Cardi, 32, told fans. “Mentally drained. Couldn’t eat. I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind.” Her words struck a chord with many, highlighting the often invisible strain of toxic relationships.

Cardi and Offset, 33, were married in 2017. Despite filing for divorce in 2020, the two later reconciled and welcomed daughter Blossom. However, by July 2024, Cardi had filed for divorce again. In her livestream, she revealed the issues ran deeper than infidelity. “It’s more than cheating. It’s the constant lies, the gaslighting,” she explained. “It was really messing up with my head.”

She said she feared what might have happened had she stayed. “If I was still there, I was going to end up going to jail,” she said. “Seriously, with my own bare hands.” Her admission revealed a woman pushed to the edge, not by one event, but by an extended pattern of emotional distress.

Reports indicate that during the marriage, Cardi’s mental health deteriorated to the point that even her management suggested therapy. She sought help, gave the relationship another shot, and even chose to have another child. “But when it’s the end of something, it’s literally the end,” she said.

Since going public with Diggs, 31, Cardi has received both support and sharp criticism. “I do not understand why I’m getting so much disgusting hate from men,” she said. “I was married for seven years. I was faithful.”

Despite the backlash, Cardi described her relationship with Diggs as peaceful and healing. “I haven’t been this happy in a very, very long time,” she said. “Before I got with somebody, I had to learn myself. I had to come at peace with myself.”

Cardi’s story is a powerful reminder of the quiet battles many face behind the scenes. Her choice to speak out may encourage others—especially women in emotionally harmful relationships—to prioritize their well-being, even if it means walking away.
