Rapper and YouTuber DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., recently broke down in tears during a livestream following a court ruling that granted his ex-partner, actress and singer Halle Bailey, temporary sole legal and physical custody of their 17-month-old son, Halo Saint. The emotional moment was captured and widely shared across social media platforms, highlighting the personal toll of the custody battle on DDG.

The custody decision stems from serious allegations made by Bailey against DDG. In court documents, Bailey accused DDG of physical and emotional abuse, including a January 2025 incident where he allegedly slammed her face into a car’s steering wheel, resulting in a chipped tooth and bruised arm. These allegations led to a temporary restraining order requiring DDG to stay at least 100 yards away from both Bailey and Halo until a court hearing scheduled for June 4, 2025.

Bailey also expressed concerns about DDG’s behavior during custody exchanges, alleging that he had previously threatened to take Halo without her permission and had been uncooperative in co-parenting arrangements. She requested that DDG have no visitation rights except for supervised visits once a week for six hours in Los Angeles. Additionally, she sought to prevent DDG from removing Halo from Los Angeles County or obtaining travel documents without her consent.

DDG’s tearful reaction to the court’s decision was met with mixed responses online. While some fans sympathized with his emotional display, others criticized him for his alleged actions leading to the custody ruling. Despite the controversy, DDG has continued to engage with his audience through streaming and social media, though his activities have been scrutinized in light of the ongoing legal proceedings.
