Halle Bailey, the acclaimed singer and actress best known for her role as Ariel in Disney’s live-action, The Little Mermaid, has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), amid serious allegations of abuse.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles on May 13, 2025, Bailey, 25, accuses DDG, 27, of ongoing physical, emotional, verbal and financial abuse during and after their relationship, which ended in October 2024. The couple shares a 17- month-old son named Halo. Bailey detailed multiple disturbing incidents in her legal filings. In January 2025, during a visitation exchange, she alleges that DDG became agitated, pulled her hair, and slammed her face into a steering wheel, resulting in a chipped tooth. She provided photographic evidence of her injuries to the court. In another incident in March, Bailey claims DDG unlawfully entered her home, sent her a photo from her bedroom, and accused her of infidelity.

Bailey also expressed concerns about DDG’s behavior on social media platforms. She alleges that he has used his influence on Twitch and YouTube to incite harassment against her, including spreading misinformation that led to social media threats. In one instance, during a May 5 Twitch livestream, DDG implied that Bailey was keeping their son from him, which she claims sparked online backlash. As a result of these allegations, a Los Angeles judge issued a temporary restraining order requiring DDG to stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey and their son, Halo, until a hearing scheduled for June 6. The order also prohibits DDG from contacting

Bailey and from possessing firearms. In addition to the restraining order, Bailey has filed for sole legal and physical custody of Halo. She is requesting that DDG be denied visitation rights, although she is open to supervised visits once a week for six hours while Halo is in Los Angeles. Bailey also seeks a court order preventing DDG from taking their son outside of Los Angeles County and from obtaining travel documents without her consent.bFollowing the allegations, Tonya Granberry, DDG’s mother wrote a message on herbInstagram story, seemingly responding to the allegations. “ I don’t usually comment orbsay anything on this internet even with all the negativity, lies and hatred towards mine.bHowever, this accusations have made me realize that I have been quiet too long,”bGranberry wrote.
