Rapper and streamer Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., widely known as DDG, was visibly stunned when he found out live on stream that Halle Bailey,
his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, had filed a temporary restraining order against him. The news broke while DDG was on a Twitch livestream with influencer Adin Ross on May 13, 2025.
Reading a TMZ headline during the broadcast, DDG stammered, “THAT CAN’T EVEN BE REAL,” appearing confused and shaken as the report
confirmed the court’s approval of Bailey’s emergency TRO. Despite the seriousness of the allegations—which include claims of physical abuse, harassment, and unauthorized entry into Bailey’s home—DDG downplayed the situation shortly after, telling his viewers he was “chilling” and would continue streaming as usual.
The livestream quickly went viral, with Adin Ross dismissing the reports as “fake narratives,” and encouraging fans to rally around DDG, calling him “a good human being.” The broadcast triggered divided responses online. While some viewers sided with DDG, others expressed support for Bailey, applauding her for speaking out. The split reaction reflects broader concerns about how abuse allegations are handled in the influencer era.
Though DDG has yet to release a detailed public statement addressing the allegations, he has received online support from several influencers
including DJ Akademiks, Deshae Frost, and even longtime rival Myron Gaines. However, not everyone in the hip-hop community is standing by him. Rapper Soulja Boy issued a strong rebuke, saying he would physically confront DDG if the abuse claims were true.
As the controversy continues to unfold, DDG maintains his innocence online, while the court prepares for the upcoming hearing on June 6, 2025, which will determine whether the restraining order will be extended for up to five years.
